Course Description: Across Colorado, cities and counties are utilizing metro districts to provide the amenities people want like parks, trails, and pools, and the public infrastructure like roads, sewer, and sidewalks that communities need. Learn more about how these special districts are created, how they are financed, and the laws that govern them.


This course is taught by Kristi Pollard:

Kristi Pollard is the Executive Director of the Metro District Education Coalition, a non-profit that is dedicated to educating the public on the role that metro districts play in Colorado communities and promotes additional transparency and accountability in the marketplace. Prior to her time with the Metro District Education Coalition, Kristi served as the President and CEO of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation, a non-profit consortium of business, community and governmental leaders striving to create greater economic vitality in Jefferson County, Colorado. Kristi has diverse experience working in the public, private and non-profit sectors having been the Executive Director of the GrandJunction Economic Partnership, the CEO of the Colorado Mesa University Foundation, Stakeholder Engagement Specialist for Chevron and an Area Director for the United States Senate.
