About this event

On Thursday, March 27th at 7pm the All Original At the River Songwriters' show will feature Brian McKenzie (RI), Ike Dee (RI) and Lisa Belsky (MA).

We are in our 19th consecutive show and the response we have received from attendees has been extremely positive!! Thank you for your continued support in bringing talented East Coast songwriters to the River each month. We look forward to seeing you on March 27th!

Lisa Belsky:https://lisabelskymusic.com/

Lisa Belsky is a singer-songwriter, Boston Public Schools music teacher, wife and mother of two, residing south of Boston in Easton, Massachusetts. With an admiring nod to Ella, Patsy, Gillian, and Neko, Lisa crafts original songs with retro-country vibes that are sonically new, yet seemingly timeless. Her “velvet” voice can burn slow, or burn it down.

Released in April of 2023, her debut album Riot of Trees is an easy blend of Americana, Django-inspired rhythms, and unexpected melodies. Lisa’s songs are richly layered with imaginative lyrics that feature twisting metaphors and rhythmic wordplay. Riot of Trees is a collection of old songs, new songs, love songs and blue songs, spanning the last couple decades.

Ike Dee https://www.instagram.com/ikedeemusic/

We welcome Ike Dee to the At the River stage. Ike is a Providence based singer songwriter blending pop, folk, soul and r&b into a heartfelt blend. Rhode Island native son, music is his passion, just guided by the soul.

He may be one of the newest members of The Providence Drum Troupe but, he is a local performer with veteran status. His voice will captivate and his lyrics will mesmerize . We can't wait to hear this soulful singer/songwriter At the River on 3/27!

Brian McKenzie is a versatile singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, and musician whose music has been described as heartfelt truths, intertwined with emotional musicality and memorable melodies. Hailing from Rhode Island, McKenzie started his music career in the early 90s as the founding member, music writer, and guitarist of the heavy-rock band: Warner/Giant Records recording artists Kilgore. He has since released 3 albums and 3 singles, showcasing not only soulful, melodic, singer-songwriter material, but also firing off catchy modern rock tunes. McKenzie continues to tour nationally, performing with acts such as Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Mavericks, Tyler Farr, Phil Madeira, and The Mallett Brothers, among others.

The Recording Academy placed McKenzie on the Official Ballot for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards in four categories for the album “Resolution” (2011). The first track on that album, "40 East", landed a spot in the Jonathan Silverman directed film "The Opposite Sex".
