Join Health4Heroes for the Manitou Incline!


The Manitou Incline is a legendary hike with 2,768 steps gaining 2,000 feet in elevation over just 0.88 miles. This trail is rated difficult and is recommended for physically active individuals and experienced hikers. Once at the summit, the Barr Trail (4 miles) will lead back down to the trailhead.

Start Time: Health4Heroes will begin the climb at 7:30 AM from the trailhead.
Parking: Arrive early—parking fills up fast. See details below.


IMPORTANT: You MUST Register for a Time Slot

Before arriving, you must reserve a time slot through the City of Colorado Springs:

Only 45 reservations are available per half hour. You will need to show your confirmation to an attendant before starting your climb.


Carpool / Park and Ride meetup

We're meeting at the Windsor Park & Ride to carpool and create our caravan. (SW Frontage Rd, Windsor, CO 80528) Anyone who wants to carpool can, and all vehicles can cruise down together.


Parking Information

Paid parking is available at:

  • Hiawatha Gardens (10 Old Man's Trail) – 1.3 miles from the Incline base (free shuttle available that runs every 15 minutes)
  • Iron Springs Chateau (444 Ruxton Avenue)

Do not park at Barr Lot or along Ruxton Avenue/Winter Street unless you have a residential permit.


What to Bring

  • Water – At least 1-2 liters (no water available on the trail)
  • Sturdy Hiking Shoes – Good grip recommended
  • Moisture-Wicking Clothing – Dress in layers if it’s cool
  • Snacks – High-energy snacks like protein bars or fruit
  • Sunscreen & Sunglasses – Limited shade on the trail
  • Hat – Sun protection is essential
  • Small Backpack – To carry your essentials
