Frequently asked questions

Is there an age limit for this event?

To take classes, you need to be 12 or older. For the Show, this is an all ages show, from young to old!

I would like to Dance in the show, but I don't want to take class. Is that ok?

To Participate in the Show, you must pay for the Seminar, and reach out to Troupe Shalimar for Submission details and timelines. - ShalimarDance@gmail.com

What should I bring/wear for the Beginners class?

Come in comfortable, but form fitting clothes. Yoga shoes, ballet slipper, or another flexible dance shoe is preferred. Many belly dancers dance barefoot, so that will be acceptable as well. Do not wear tennis shoes or boots, as they will hinder your movements.

Are there any requirements for Particpating in the Shik Shak Shok Choreography Class?

This is an intermediate routine, but beginners are welcome to participate as well. For the Class, a Circle Skirt is recommended,but not required. There will be some circle skirts that can be loaned out for class.

I am not sure this is for me...

Belly Dancing is for everyone: male, female, something in between or outside the norm, young, old, nymphly, goddess size, black, white, green, purple - EVERYONE.
