Join us for Love and Lavender: A Gathering for Grief on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the tranquil Lavender Barnyard. This day is not just about remembrance or separation, this event will focus on healing and connection.

Love and Lavender: A Gathering for Grief honors the journeys of mothers who have experienced the profound loss of a child, daughters mourning their mothers, individuals navigating complex family dynamics, and those who yearn for motherhood. This gathering is a safe space for those navigating the complexities of grief and loss.

In this gentle and nurturing space, we will come together to share our stories and support one another as we embody and share in our tender, personal experiences. Through connection and understanding, we hope to cultivate an atmosphere of solace and deep empathy amid the peaceful lavender surroundings. Love and Lavender will include: guided discussions, mindfulness activities, and communal support, we aim to provide comfort and solidarity during difficult times.

Join us at this heartfelt event - you are not alone. We look forward to welcoming you to the Lavender Barnyard, where we can intentionally honor one another and find serenity in our shared moments.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I park? And should I carpool?

There is parking available on 225th Street West, in front of the Lavender Barnyard.

Should I bring my own yoga mat?

There are 12 yoga mats available through Kate, the Whispers of Life Doula - along with bolsters, yoga blocks and blankets for the same number of people. If you do not have your own equipment please reach out to Kate at WhispersofLifeDoula@gmail.com to request to barrow equipment from Kate.

Do I need to worry about insects? (Eg. Bees)

The venue is outdoors and there are sometimes bugs on the land, that said similar to humans the insects tend to be incredibly calm around the lavender. But if you have any allergies please know there are pollinators who often frequent the area but again they tend to be calm.

Can I bring my own nourishment?

Certainly! Light hors d'oeuvres - including lavender lemonade - will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own food too! (Especially if you have food allergies please honor your body and your needs.)

Is the site ADA compliant?

While the barnyard, including outdoor bathroom are compliant with laws for Adults with Disabilities the land itself can be uneven so please note that before registering for this event if that is a concern for you. Or reach out to Kate at WhispersofLifeDoula@gmail.com with any questions you have.

Is the a bathroom available?

Yes, there is a ADA compliant outdoor, incredibly clean, bathroom onsite next to the lavender field that is available for us.

Can I pick lavender while I am at the event?

Though we will not have a picking session during our event, you can purchase lavender in the Barnyard's store while you are on site. And you can schedule a future "U-Pick" event at the Barnyard here: https://www.lavenderbarnyard.com/s/appointments

What is a Rose Ceremony?

A sacred ritual infused with the high-vibrational energy of roses—an invitation to open your heart, soothe your soul, and reconnect with the divine. Each petal becomes a prayer, each breath a return to your heart. A ceremony to honor your own blooming, remember your sacredness, & hold space for you.

Welcome, I am glad that you are here.

My name is Kate, I am the Whispers of Life Doula - a Trauma Conscious and Yin Yoga Guide (RYT200) as well as a trained End of Life Doula. I believe that each of us is writing our own story and not one is alike to another. I would be honored to have you share yours with me.

As someone who has encountered death many times in her life, I know the importance of education as well as self care so I plan to offer both on this platform. Please know that I am here to listen, to learn, and to reflect with you on this journey should you need me. I hope to connect with you soon.
