Join us at High Falls County Park for High Falls History Day, a family-friendly event celebrating the rich history of our region. The day is themed around the historic Alexander-Canon-Hill House (1831) that is currently under rennovation and features a wide variety of hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and engaging programs for all ages!

Event Highlights Include:

  • Appearances by the SC Independent Rangers Reenactment Group: Witness the excitement of black powder weapon demonstrations and learn about the lives of soldiers and settlers from the past.
  • Primitive Skills Demonstrations: Try your hand at flintknapping and learn how early people crafted tools and weapons from stone.
  • Yarn Spinning and Textile Arts: Watch yarn spinning demonstrations and discover how textiles were made by hand in the 19th century.
  • Living History Trades & Crafts: Explore historic trades like blacksmithing, woodworking, and more.
  • Kids' Activities: Families will enjoy history-themed crafts, storytelling, and activities that make learning fun for young historians.
  • Engaging Programs: Learn about the planned and ongoing renovations of the Alexander-Canon-Hill House and attend a captivating lecture on the history of the Keowee River Valley before it was flooded to build the lake.
