About this event

  • Event lasts 7 days 1 hour

You're ready to seed, plant and grow your best life. Start thriving this Spring with two Listening Parties, on two Tuesdays in a row. They'll introduce the transformative power of listening to your body. The first Tuesday explores the ways your inner child shows up in your daily decision-making, triggers and creativity. This means tuning into what you hear, see, say and feel. When you return for Tuesday #2, you'll reset how you communicate with others as you move through your thoughts and the changing rhythms of nature. Congratulations! You're reset for growth, happiness and play.

Frequently asked questions

Are these really parties????

Great question! I call these events listening parties because you'll be listening to yourself in new ways. My useful tools can change how you move through your day – and, your dreams for the future. It's all about opening up spaces for you and your inner child to play & party your way through life.

"Inner Child University" is a cute. What does ICU do?

Haha! I trademarked the name Inner Child University to describe my work. I help adults get back to what they loved about being a kid. They figure out the real stories of their lives by transforming trauma and triggers that keep them stuck. Think of my ICU as an intensive care unit for your soul.

Betty Ming Liu (she/her) is a holistic life & career coach. Her specialty is coaching storytellers to find and share their real stories. This is often called “trauma-informed storytelling” because it goes beyond pretty words to find power and authenticity in the big picture. Betty’s own origin story includes her family’s immigration, money trauma, mental health issues, alcoholism and domestic violence. But she transformed the narrative after she became a student of Chinese healing arts based on ancient Daoist philosophy. This is how she recovered missing chunks of her personal puzzle.

Betty’s parents are Chinese immigrants from China and Vietnam. She grew up in New York City’s Chinatown. She graduated from Stuyvesant High School, Baruch College and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Her 16-year journalism career included many exciting years as a New York Daily News columnist. After full-time journalism, she found her calling over the past two decades as a teacher. She’s currently a professor and coach in New York University’s journalism department. In 2022, at the age of 65, Betty made a huge life change and moved to Los Angeles. As a proud single mom, she’s happy to be living just minutes away from her millennial daughter and making new friends.
