If you have an interest in how to support the development of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Sector, please join Karlup Aboriginal Corporation and Indigo Junction for a Lotterywest funded interactive discussion about the challenges, opportunities and lessons learned from their collaboration to develop Midland's newest ACCO, the Karlup Aboriginal Corporation. Topics that will be covered will include,
- the need for ACCO's who do different things, and who do things differently
- ACCO/NFP and ACCO/ACCO auspicing Partnerships - what are we trying to change and for who?
- how to authentically involve community members in decision making processes
- the potential for partnerships between ACCO's and between ACCO's and non ACCO"s
- Aboriginal governance best practice/ the impacts of going too slowly and/or going too fast.
- Financial and infrastructure support required
- Cultural Safety
