Welcome to Learning Designed: Adventure Awaits!

Adventure is out there! Join us in Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation at Columbus North High School for an exciting, Up-themed summer conference where you'll embark on a journey of learning and discovery. Our conference kicks off with exploration fo our vendor hall from 8:00-8:30 AM, followed by a keynote presentation, breakout sessions, and concludes at 3:30 PM with awards and prize giveaways! Our event will feature an inspiring keynote by Dr. Katie Novak, spotlight presentations by Nadine Gilkison, Makenzie Gilkison, Karisa Schwanekamp, Stevie Frank, Dr. Kevin Jones, ELL2.0 (Dr. Michelle Shory and Dr. Irina McGrath), interactive breakout sessions, free BBQ lunch, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow adventurers. Breakout session strands include UDL, blended and virutal learning, AI (artificial intelligence), adult learning theories, innovative classroom practices, STEM integration, and more. 8 professional growth points (PGPs) will be available to attendees. Whether you're a seasoned educator or new to the learning landscape, there's something here for everyone. So pack your bags, grab your compass, and get ready for an educational adventure like no other!

Frequently asked questions

Will lunch be provided?

A free catered BBQ lunch is included with your registration. Vegetarian options can be provided if registering at least 10 days before the event, otherwise, attendees needing a vegetarian lunch will need to bring their lunch or visit a restaurant nearby (multiple within walking distance).

Do I need a device to participate?

Though a device (laptop, Chromebook, tablet, iPad, mobile device, phone) is not required to participate in the conference, we strongly recommend bringing one so you'll get the full experience! Many sessions will include hands-on application of tools or skills-you won't want to miss out.

Do I need to be an employee of BCSC (Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.) to attend?

No! The Learning DesignED conference is available to anyone in education in the state of Indiana-and beyond! The event is hosted by BCSC, but all are welcome to attend. The event is made possible through a grant from the Indiana Department of Education.
