Natural Areas Conservancy will host a Super Steward: Trail Maintainer training on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at La Tourette Park.

If you are attending, please fill out this volunteer waiver. Note: Every attendee must fill out a waiver. If you have others joining, please ensure they fill out the waiver above as well.

Location: Greenbelt Nature Center (700 Rockland Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314)

Time: 10am - 1pm

During this training you will learn:

  • How to navigate using Citywide Trails Team trail maps
  • How to identify and assess trail conditions
  • Ways to mitigate trail concerns
  • Plant identification and invasive/non-native species management techniques
  • Standard trail corridor dimensions & how to prune native vegetation using basic arboriculture methods

What should you bring:

  • A water bottle
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Long pants
  • Sturdy, closed toe shoes


All participants are encouraged to attend the Super Steward Orientation prior to training. You can register for the Super Steward Orientation on the NYC Parks Super Steward website (there is one every month): https://www.nycgovparks.org/reg/advanced-stewardship.
