About this event

  • Event lasts 4 days 6 hours
Discover the beauty of nature through art in this inspiring camp! Young artists will create works influenced by the natural world, exploring the ephemeral land art of Andy Goldsworthy and the vibrant florals of Georgia O’Keeffe. Participants will learn about ethical foraging and use herbs and flowers gathered from Fox Haven to create stunning cyanotypes. Activities include building sculptures from natural materials, painting landscapes, and sketching organic forms. Campers will also play games and stay cool playing in the creek. Through hands-on projects and outdoor adventures, participants will learn to see nature as both a muse and a medium, fostering creativity and a deeper connection to the environment.

We will explore and create:

  • Wax paper pressed flowers
  • Cyanotype Bandanas
  • Jeff Goldsworthy inspired nature sculptures
  • Woodcut and leaf relief prints
  • Flower Pounding
  • Found object nature crowns

,

Each day will also feature exciting games, community-building activities, and exploration of the local creek to discover the plants and animals that call our area home.

A typical day at camp will look something like this:

9:00 AM – Arrival, attendance, and morning circle to set intentions for the day 9:30 AM – Introduction to nature-inspired art: creating sketches from natural surroundings 10:30 AM – Snack and a nature-themed creative game 11:00 AM – Continue with sketching and begin crafting sculptures from natural materials found around the area 11:45 AM – Lunch 12:15 PM – Nand t projects 1:30 PM – Learn about cyanotypes and start creating prints using foraged plants 2:00 PM – Short hike to play in the creek 2:30 PM – Return to the farm and receive a sneak peek of tomorrow’s creative adventure

This adventure is a practice in community building. We start, support, and finish everything together. No one wins or loses. It takes a village.
