Concerts are NEVER made for kids. Except this one! At KIDS CLASSical, kiddos are encouraged to stand up, dance, play, and enjoy the music of real professional musicians as they guide them through a short excerpt of a real piece of classical music.
Together, the musicians and their helpers will build a story with the kids based around how THEY hear the piece - making up characters for each theme, imagining how the characters might move around and interact with each other, and learning to hear how the story comes together.
A cross between a class and a concert, children will get the real experience of a professional classical musical performance in a beautiful, acoustically brilliant space without having to sit still, be quiet, or pay attention for long periods of time.
This KIDS CLASSical event is open to children ages 4-8. Siblings under the age of 4 must remain with their caregiver in the parents' section throughout the event. Performers and helpers have been thoroughly vetted for experience and background checked.
KIDS CLASSical is hosted by Laura Zawarski, a professional violinist with 15+ years of teaching experience who has been featured on the Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda, ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, Classic.FM, and EllenTube.
