About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

The Irish American Heritage Museum is absolutely thrilled to announce that our friends New Leaf's have re-scheduled their performance at IAHM's Flanagan Theater (their February 2025 concert was cancelled due to an ice storm in the northeast).

Performing and recording artist/band New Leaf will perform at the June's installment of IAHM's Trad/Folk 2025 Concert Series event. New Leaf is Kira Jewett (fiddle), Jacob Hagelberg (accordion), and Jim Bunting (guitar, vocals and bouzouki). From New England, New Leaf is known for traditional tunes with tight, driving rhythm, and for their thoughtful mix of songs from Ireland's rich repertoire.

New Leaf returns to New York with its distinctive, energetic style following acclaimed performances in New York's Hudson Valley, including Catskills Irish Arts Weeks. The Boston Irish Reporter praised New Leaf's arrangements, stating their sets were created " ... with an ear to building tension and anticipation." Although many of New Leaf's tunes are from the generation-spanning Irish styles such as the Sligo and Clare traditions, their tunes have also been described as being "suggestive of longtime Northeast urban hot spots for Irish American traditional music, namely Boston, New York City and Philadelphia."

Join us for a night of energetic performance, and welcome New Leaf to Albany!

Thank you to the event sponsors, the Flanagan Family and the Albany Parking Authority.
