Are you just getting into birding and want to learn the basics? Join CMBO’s Program Coordinator, Adehl Schwaderer and CMBO Naturalists for an afternoon of deep diving into all things birding. We will review optics, identification tips, tricks for binoculars usage, and answer any questions you may have. We’ll visit several local hotspots to take in the early spring migrants while focusing on improving your bird identification out in the field. Geared towards beginners and those wishing to improve their knowledge and appreciation of birds and birding, helping you take it to the next level!
We don’t pre-set an itinerary but will visit those parts of Cape May that regularly hold good numbers of birds at this time of year. Final location decisions will be made by the leader, based on local knowledge and conditions at the time. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. A portion of the afternoon will involve an indoor session, with discussions on birdwatching and bird feeding gear/paraphernalia.
