Curry & Comfort: Indian Classics Made Easy

Indian food at home? Yes, you can. Join Chef-instructor and food writer Shawnie Kelley for a flavorful, hands-on class that brings the taste of India to your kitchen—without the intimidation.

You’ll cook up a crowd-pleasing butter chicken that can be cranked up with heat or kept mild for the kids. (This dish is the perfect intro to Indian food if you're just starting out.) Then, go meatless with two bold vegetarian-vegan favorites: Bombay aloo (crispy curried potatoes) and a cumin-spiced carrot and black lentil salad with a tangy curry vinaigrette.

Shawnie will demonstrate how to make naan dough while you fry your own flatbread and stir together a cool, creamy yogurt raita to balance the heat. You’ll also learn about spices, cooking techniques, and where to shop for Indian ingredients in Columbus.

Wrap it up with a shared meal and your choice of wine or chai tea. You’ll leave full, happy, and confident to recreate it all at home.
