Volunteers for Medical Engineering (VME) teams volunteer engineers and medical professionals to design and manufacture custom assistive devices, empowering individuals with disabilities to live more independently. Founded in 1982 by a mechanical engineer, VME continues to provide innovative solutions while inspiring emerging engineers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists from 12 campuses.
VME is one of the many impactful programs provided by The IMAGE Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Harford County, Maryland.
