About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Homelessness has reached crisis levels both locally and nationwide. Through our Homelessness 101 classes, we address some of the most frequently asked questions about the issue—breaking down myths and providing the most up-to-date statistics and best practices for solving homelessness in our community.

  • What causes people to become homeless?
  • What is the current state of homelessness in Orange County?
  • How can homelessness be solved?
  • What can I do to help?

Whether this is your first introduction to the topic or you're seeking to deepen your knowledge, you’ll leave this class with a clearer understanding of how to respond to our community’s needs and make the greatest impact!

Discover how you can change our county’s history and improve the lives of our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Together, we can #EndHomelessnessOC.

Please Note: This class will be held virtually in various sessions and attendees are required to register in advance.

About:

The United to End Homelessness℠ initiative, empowered by Orange County United Way, is a powerful collaboration between Orange County’s top business, philanthropic, governmental, faith-based and nonprofit leaders. It also depends on caring residents like you who agree that we must act now if we are to end our community’s housing crisis. United to End Homelessness is committed to ending homelessness in Orange County so that everyone has a place to call home.

Our Mission:

Our goal is to end homelessness in our community by achieving functional zero within targeted populations, which include Veterans, youth, older adults, and families. This means that there will be services and housing available for every individual who may need them. We believe the solution to homelessness is a home; moving into permanent housing with supportive services gives a person a solid foundation to rebuild their life.
