About Our Guest Artist

Nicolas Duchamp is an internationally acclaimed performer and educator, specializing in the Paris Conservatory French flute tradition. He served for many years as principal flutist for the National Opera Comique in Paris and toured extensively in his native France as well as Europe, Japan and North America. He has taught at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, led master classes worldwide, and served as a professor at French conservatories for over 20 years. In 2009, he was commissioned to honor Philippe Gaubert’s legacy with a worldwide tour, including a historic performance on Gaubert’s Louis Lot flute for American Public Radio’s “Performance Today”.
