About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

The Patriots’ Day Initiative and Wolcott Historical Society have partnered to celebrate Patriots’ Day in 2025.

Join us for a HISTORY SCAVENGER HUNT that can be completed as a family or small group adventure. Participants will learn about Wolcott’s local history, historic landmarks and patriots from the American Revolution.

This event will take place (RAIN OR SHINE) on Saturday, April 12th at 12 noon and will run approximately 1-2 hours. Teams will meet at the Center School History Museum at154 Center Street Wolcott, CT. The final location will be revealed with provided clues from each site.

Please note, transportation is needed to participate in this activity. Pick up a brochure and map at location start to begin your adventure.

Registration is required. (T-Shirts will be provided to the first 30 participants to register)

Participants must visit all 9 historic sites which are highlighted in the brochure. At each site you are asked to take a clue from the designated container and move onto the next historic location.

Once your team has collected all 9 clues, put them together to reveal the final meeting place and proceed to that location. You may use a smart device to help on your adventure. Volunteers will greet you at the final location and share the last bit of history. The first three teams to complete the scavenger hunt will be awarded prizes. Our goal is to provide this activity to engage all ages in learning and “doing history.”
