About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

One of Tennessee's newest State Parks, and nestled in the heart of West Tennessee, Middle Fork Bottoms State Park spans 860 acres of restored wetlands, newly planted hardwood forest, and two miles of revitalized streams.

In 2016, TennGreen supported the acquisition of property now included in the park, a pivotal first step towards the floodplain restoration project in 2018, and opening of the park in 2024.

Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes that are comfortable for walking and bring your water bottle.

This easy walk will be on the park's paved walking trails, which are also bicycle and wheelchair accessible.

We will meet at the trailhead kiosk at Entrance #1.

MISSION

TennGreen Land Conservancy’s mission is to conserve land where people and nature can thrive.

WHAT WE DO

Through sound science and partnerships, TennGreen Land Conservancy identifies and conserves land across Tennessee for wildlife corridors, critical habitat, and public benefit. TennGreen Land Conservancy protects, cares for, and connects people with Tennessee’s natural world by providing meaningful outdoor experiences, establishing conservation easements, supporting restoration efforts, and acquiring (or assisting in the acquisition of) privately-held land.

WHY PROTECT LAND?

Tennessee is known for its extraordinary beauty from the mighty Mississippi to the Great Smoky Mountains. Our rich forests, farms, and wetlands are not only our home but also home to a vast diversity of fish and wildlife. Tennessee is experiencing extreme human development pressure, and every missed opportunity to protect our unique lands is an irreversible loss to our future. We must act swiftly and smartly to protect the places that provide us all well-being and an unrivaled quality of life.

The future of our land, water, and wildlife depends on our attitudes and actions today. Our natural world needs us. There are many ways you can get involved. Click here to take action now!
