It’s often thought that you can’t grow vegetables in the heat of summer. There are a group of vegetables that really appreciate our summer heat and sun. Squash (and that includes zucchini), pumpkins, melons all enjoy basking in our summer heat. If planted in the early spring these plants will grow and produce well…until they are attacked by the squash bug. Once on your plant, these insets are almost impossible to get rid of.
