About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Join AHP Writer/Artist-in-Residence Dylan Klempner for “Gratitude Writing,” a weekly writing workshop via Zoom for 8 weeks from March 14 - May 2, 2025.

The workshop will run for 60 minutes from 2:30pm - 3:30pm EST.

Using gratitude to inspire writing

Studies show that gratitude is associated with more happiness. It can help us cope with challenges, have better relationships, feel more positive emotions and enjoy good experiences. In this workshop, prompts are chosen to help writers think about ideas of gratitude and inspire new writing.

Who is this class for?

This class is ideal for writers at any stage of their writing journey, from beginners to advanced, including those who may have never taken a writing class before. Writers will be encouraged to develop craft in a supportive setting. During each session, we will focus on creating new work and on providing positive feedback for the other writers in the group.

The workshop is also inspired by the work of Pat Schneider, founder of AWA and author of "Writing Alone and With Others." In it, she writes, “Every person is a writer, and every writer deserves a safe environment in which to experiment, learn, and develop craft.”
