Come join Apex Paranormal for the first ever public ghost hunt events at the amazing Kansas State Pen. Opened in 1868, the KSP has served as the site for all executions in the state of Kansas the Clutter Family murderers made famous in Truman Capote's book "In Cold Blood". We will have access to 5 huge locations within the prison; The Cafeteria, The Auditorium (where Johnny Cash once played a concert), Cell House A, Cell House C, and Cell House D. This does remain an active prison with newer buildings on the backside still in use and the state's only current execution chamber (lethal injection) still on site.
These events will be the first time the prison has ever been investigated so come join us as we begin to figure out the hauntings of this infamous prison!!
We'll start the night with a brief tour and ghost hunting 101 then it's lights out as we look for the spirits still lurking throughout the buildings. This event will be led by real paranormal investigators who will also share their experiences hunting for ghosts inside the building.
This event will run from 7pm to 1am
This is an 18+ age event.
Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you will be walking throughout all buildings, including stairs and walking outside between the buildings. The buildings are NOT climate controlled.
Refunds may only be issued up to 2 weeks ahead of the scheduled event.
This is a full on ghost hunt so feel free to bring your own EMF meters, recorders, cameras or any other equipment if you would like. Apex will also provide ghost hunting equipment to use.

Frequently asked questions
We will issue refunds no later than 2 weeks prior to the event. These are very popular events and we usually have waiting lists for folks wanting to purchase tickets. 2 weeks allows us time to refill your ticket with another guest. Less than 2 weeks before the event, refunds will not be issued.
If you have paranormal equipment you would like to use, please feel free to bring it along! Just make sure to take care of it as Apex will not be liable for lost or broken equipment. if you do not have any equipment to bring, Apex will have plenty of equipment available for all guests to use!
Due to the sensitive topic of the paranormal, running around a scary building in the dark, and wanting to ensure all guests have a great time, we do not allow children under 18 to come to these events. If you have additional questions around this, please reach out!
The buildings we will be in are not climate controlled and we will be exposed to the elements throughout this investigation, please plan to dress accordingly with the weather at the time of the event.
While ghosts are just like people and we can't MAKE them interact, the Kansas State Pen has had amazing activity every time we have visited and this event should be no different. We will offer opportunities to try some unique experiences during these events that should solicit some great activity.
DO NOT park in the big parking lot in front of the prison, that is used solely for the active prison. Please park to the south side of the prison, you will see the line of cars where parking is allowed. Enter through the the small gate on the south side and staff will be there to guide folks.
