Car Shuttling and arrivals


Paddlers will meet in Interlaken at the finish point, drop off their cars, and are shuttled back to Asbury Park to drop in.

Paddle Plan / Route Review


Paddlers will review safety guidelines and paddle route prior to launching

8:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Launch / Basic Boat Control Lesson


Paddlers will begin their adventure on Deal Lake and will be given a short 20-minute, high-level, paddle overview

About this event

Join your ACA guide, Kevin R. Burkitt, for an early-morning guided eco-tour of the deal lake watershed celebrating all Moms on Deal Lake, Asbury Park, NJ.

We will launch from the Asbury Boat Launch around 8:30 for a quick 30 minute paddle lesson before paddling into Wanamassa and Interlaken to take in the beauty of the watershed before coming back to a semi-secret cove for a light continetal breakfast, juice, and cofee.

You will be amazed at how healthy the eco system is as you will see- sky birds, egrets, cranes, swans, and cormerants. Other water fowl have been know to drop in too.

This is a semi-private Ameican Canoe Association (ACA) guided tour with only six (6) seats availble, making this an experience all Mom's should experience this spring.

The event is all-inclusive offering:

  • Kayak, paddle, PFD)
  • (Beginner, Intermediate, and touring - Tandem availalbe upon request)
  • ACA Insurance
  • Continental Breakfast

The cost is broken down as follows:

  • Kayak, paddle, PFD - $ Included
  • ACA insurance - $15
  • Food - $ 20
  • Donation - $ 25
  • Trip Total - $60

You can bring your own kayak if you like, but we need to know 24 hours in advance.
