About this event

The residential neighborhood of French Park in Santa Ana, California is a community of single and multi-family residences designated as a local historic district in 1984 and a national historic district in 1999. Tour-goers will appreciate French Park's unique street pattern and architecture dating to the late 19th century. Residential styles such as Queen Anne, Colonial and Period Revival, Italianate, Craftsman and Modernist are all in evidence here in large and small houses and apartment buildings. Also in evidence is the history of the first generation of city dwellers that shaped the new city of Santa Ana and the new county of Orange.

Your guide will be Lisandro Orozco, who was raised in Santa Ana and is a resident of the Historic French Park neighborhood. An urban planner by profession, he has led tours of Santa Ana's historic core for many years. Lisandro served as an advisor to the board of the American Planning Association, was a commissioner on the City of Santa Ana Arts & Culture Commission and vice chair of the Orange County Transportation Authority Citizens Advisory Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton.
