About this event
- Event lasts 2 hours
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a unique and nature-inspired craft! Join us to create a beautiful pressed flower shamrock necklace using air-dry clay.
In this activity, you’ll press leaves until they are completely dry, then use them to design a stunning pendant. Place the pressed leaves on an air-dry clay pendant, add a clasp, and attach it to a natural fiber string necklace.
Fun Facts About Clovers:
- Diverse Species: The genus Trifolium, commonly known as clover, consists of about 255 species in the pea and bean family. Clovers are found in temperate and subtropical regions across North and South America and the Old World.
- Pollinator Friendly: Clovers are very attractive to a wide variety of pollinators, including butterflies, moths, wasps, native bees, and honeybees. They are among the most important nectar sources for honeybees in North America.
- Agricultural Importance: More than a dozen species of clover are cultivated worldwide as forage for livestock or as green manure crops to improve soil fertility. Clovers have nodules on their roots that house bacteria converting nitrogen from the air into a form plants can use.
- Shamrock Symbolism: The shamrock, a symbol of Ireland and St. Patrick, is likely a type of clover. It is believed that St. Patrick used the shamrock to represent the Holy Trinity.
- Good Luck Charm: The four-leaf clover is a rare variation found in several trifoliate clover species. It is considered a symbol of good luck, with one four-leaf clover found for every 5,076 three-leaf clovers.
All materials will be provided, and you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind accessory that captures the beauty of nature. Craft materials will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

EXPLORE THE MARKET | While you're at Vizcaya Village, take some time to wander the Farmers Market and chat with local farmers and vendors. The market is open from 9am to 2pm every Sunday.
LOCATION | This activity takes place exclusively at Vizcaya Village, the estate’s historic farm village, and does not include access to the east side of the property where the Main House and gardens are located.
VIZCAYA FAMILY PROGRAMS | This series is designed to create opportunities for intergenerational interactions among families with young children (ages 6-12). These family activities aim to inspire and create a connection to Vizcaya’s agricultural past by engaging families with art and agriculture-making activities. As such, orders that do not include a child ticket may be canceled.
To promote inclusion for all, Vizcaya ensures that all community programs, after-hour and weekend events for locals, feature activities that are physically accessible to all visitors. While not all areas of the estate are wheelchair accessible, community programs are purposefully located in areas without stairs or that can be accessed via a ramp.
