Thank you to our friends at Indy Parks - Frederick Douglass Park for supporting this practice and being fantastic partners in community well-being. This is the largest and newest family center in the Indy Parks system.

***

This practice is inside the Frederick Douglass Park Family Center. No special knowledge or experience needed. Come as you are. Wear comfortable clothing. You are welcome to come and go as you like. We usually enjoy snacks, drinks, and friendship between yoga and meditation.

Practice Leaders:

Tony (he/him): 1/4, 1/18, 2/1, 2/15, 3/1, 3/15, 4/12, 4/26

Dustin (he/him): 1/11, 1/25, 2/8, 2/22, 3/8, 3/22, 3/29, 4/19

No practice on April 5 due to an Indy Parks event.

Schedule:

Yoga 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. - in the big room just to the right inside the main entrance: You can expect yoga to be at a relaxed pace with space to breathe, with movements that facilitate gentle joint mobility and functional strength. A few mats are available for you to borrow, but please bring your own if you have one.

Meditation 11:00 - 11:25 a.m. - upstairs in Multipurpose 1: Our meditation practice is quiet, continually returning to ease in the body and ease in the breathing. There is nothing to achieve or attain. You are welcome to practice your Way as long as you help maintain a quiet practice space for the group.

Mindful Dialogue and Active Listening 11:30 - 11:45 a.m.: We’ll practice either a paired or full group mindful listening and speaking exercise. Both are great practices that will improve every relationship in your life that involves communication.

Sharing and Discussion until noon: Share any questions and reflections and hear what others have to share. It's ok to just listen, too.

Safety

If you have any symptoms of contagious illness (e.g. coughing, fever, runny nose, body aches, malaise, etc.), please stay home and recover. Thank you for caring for your health and the well-being of people attending practice.

Organized by

Indy Community Yoga is a worker-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit cooperative that offers free, daily meditation and yoga practices in beautiful parks and neighborhood spaces and seasonal retreats in nature. We work to make community well-being accessible and give people a place to practice with one another, return to ease, and work together to reduce harm as a community.
