About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Frames & Containers is a weekly seminar and workshop space where poets and writers of all backgrounds can come together and investigate how formal poetry has been developed, used, and broken over time to enrich a writer's message. This series intends to lift the veil that shadows formal poetry, making it SEEM outdated and inaccessible for contemporary writers.

Within the week, we will meet twice: once on Mondays for a seminar on a chosen poetic form that will end with a prompt for the week, and then again on Thursdays for us to peer workshop work that was inspired by Monday's seminar. All kinds of poetry may be brought in for workshop on Thursday, though priority will be given to those who submit work based on the week's prompt.
