About this event

NOTE: You must be registered and agree to the waiver in order to participate in tour.

Description of tour: Explore one of San Francisco's most quintessential places with Louis, a local volunteer!


Learn about the past and the present of Fisherman's Wharf, explore the history and learn about how the Wharf came to be what it is today! Play some antique games at a museum for mechanical arcade games & watch SF Sourdough bread being made. Feel free to continue on on your own after or head back to the hostel with our volunteer.

Where to meet: In the hostel lobby at HI San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf

Please bring: Comfortable walking shoees and bring water. Sunscreen and a hat are also recommended.

Do I need to bring Money? No, unless you want to purchase a coffee or water along the way.

The hostel experience is enriched by participating in planned programming and spontaneous activities. All programs and/or activities carry the risk of injury. I understand that when joining programs or activities I am participating on my own volition and am fully and personally responsible for my own safety and actions while and during my participation in such programs and/or activities, and that as a result of my participation, I may be at risk of personal injury, illness, permanent disability, or death. I understand that such risk may result from the actions, omissions, of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Hostelling International American Youth Hostels, Inc. d/b/a/ Hostelling International -USA (HI-USA) and HI Boston and their respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, vendors and other participants (The Releasees”). I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I may experience or incur in connection with my participation in the programs and/or activities. With full awareness and appreciation of the risks involved, I hereby forever release, waive, discharge the Releasees from and covenant not to sue the Releasees for any and all liabilities, claims, expenses, costs, damages (including attorneys’ fees), demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever (including those that may not have yet arisen or matured), directly or indirectly arising out of, related to or in connection with my participation in such programs and/activities and any loss, damage, injury (whether bodily or emotional harm or mental illness) or death, that may be sustained by as a result thereof, including harm resulting from the Releasees negligence, except for such harm as may result from the Releasees gross negligence, recklessness or willful misconduct.
