Fiber artist Kari Roslund hosts this hands-on Fiber Exploration Workshop, where you'll discover creative ways to incorporate fiber arts into your lesson plans. We’ll experiment with both conventional and unconventional materials to create a unique 8" x 10" fiber collage on canvas through various fiber techniques including piecing, embellishing, felting and stitching.
Kari Roslund is a nationally and internationally recognized fiber artist, with the most notable exhibitions including The Gold Standard of Textile and Fiber at the Westbeth Gallery in New York City and the Korean Fiber Art Forum at the Suwon Museum of Art in Suwon, South Korea. Her work explores the intersection of history, place and material, layering wool, silk, paper and textiles to create richly textured compositions. Her process embraces discovery allowing materials to guide the work while honoring the traditions of fiber art.
Join us for a creative session that will inspire new approaches to texture, storytelling and fiber techniques in the classroom!
