Is event suitable for families?

Yes, family members of all ages are welcome. We will be using art materials of all kinds which may include scissors, glue, paint, etc. As caretakers, we ask that you keep an eye on your loved one so that every can enjoy the space.

Is this event suitable for individuals?

Yes! We all have stories to tell so take a chance, meet some new people and get creative. There will be people of all ages at the event.

Will I have to move during the event?

The event is mostly seated. There is an icebreaker at the beginning of each event, which may involved some movement. If you have accessibility issues, please let us know so we can accommodate. You can always make the choice for yourself about what feels best.

Will there be food at the event?

Yes! At the end of each event, food will be offered. The food can range from snacks to meals depending on the day. This is a six part series so each event will have something different. We hope you enjoy the offerings!

Is it OK to arrive after the start time?

Yes, you can arrive by 3:30pm the latest. You may not have time to complete the project, but you'll have most of the materials and can complete your art at home. Not all materials are guaranteed with late arrival. Please note that the end time is still 4:30pm regardless of a later arrival.

What happens if part of my group cannot attend?

Please let us know as soon as you can. If all members of your party do not attend, then the materials will be given to someone on the waitlist or walk-in. The aim is to keep the program equitable and accessible.

Once I finish my creative piece, can I create one for a loved one or friend?

Materials are planned for in advance based on the number of registrants. If all members of your party do not attend, then the materials will be given to someone on the waitlist or walk-in. The aim is to keep the program equitable and accessible.

Movers & Makers is a dynamic community-based program designed for participants to take up S P A C E and CREATE what matters to them through art, movement and conversation. Community members use imagination to engage the senses and connect to what is, what was and what will be. We strive to reflect the diversity of our participants in our programming, resources and accessibility.

Facilitators have formal training and professional experience in a variety of areas, such as creative writing, drawing, yoga, photography, painting, trauma-informed practices, crafting, sculpture and illustration, to name a few.
