About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Let's smell our way through the plants! We'll use our nose and a journal to understand about plants on a deeper level. Instead of only relying on our sight to identify them, we'll active our sense of smell that cuts deep into our memory so we'll never forget them.

On this easy. 1.5 mile stroll through Elysian Park in near downtown Los Angeles, we'll rediscovery the nature that surrounds us. Connecting common scents of our every day life with the plants we encounter. And we'll use traditional nature journaling to cement the knowledge. And discuss various scientific theories as to why some plants have a sense at all.

Antihistimines will be available just in case! Let's let our nose lead the way for once. :)

There will also be some light foraging to engage our taste buds as well! The dry rainy season this year hasn't left as much for us to eat as in year's past, which is why I'm not hosting my normal foraging/salad events, but there are a few snacks out there for us to partake in during this hike!
