In alignment with this vision, the event will feature four expert-led panels focusing on healthcare, mental health, beauty & wellness, and finance. Honoring Dr. Ebony Johnson with the Woman of the Year Award

As part of the celebration of Black women’s leadership and impact, the event will honor Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ebony Johnson with the “Woman of the Year Award”.

“Dr. Johnson’s leadership as a Black woman and the first Black superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools is both historic and impactful. Therefore, she serves as an inspiration for young Black students and aspiring Black educators,” said Nehemiah D. Frank, editor-in-chief of The Black Wall Street Times. “Her presence in Tulsa’s education system reinforces the importance of diverse leadership that reflects the communities being served.”

Dr. Ramona Ann Curtis is a dedicated advocate for diversity, social justice, and workforce development. She previously served at Baylor University, where she was honored for her efforts in fostering inclusivity and cultural competency. Moreover, a respected speaker and leader, Dr. Curtis holds degrees in communication and sociology and recently earned her doctorate. She is also the mother of Tulsa, Oklahoma’s first Black Mayor — Monroe Nichols.

The ElevateHER is made possible by the George Kaiser Family Foundation, Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce, the National Parents Union, and the Metropolitan Baptist Church. The Black Wall Street Times will also proudly sponsor the inaugural ElevateHER event.
