About this event

Approximately 30 million individuals will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime, highlighting the critical need for professional training and community understanding. Eating disorders can happen to anyone at any age, race, weight, or gender, despite the enduring stereotypes perpetuated in the media.

This presentation will provide an overview of eating disorders and disordered eating, while enhancing awareness of the genetic, environmental, and experiential risk factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of symptoms. Participants will be able to identify vulnerable populations, effective screening tools, co-occurring diagnoses, and evidenced-based treatment approaches. This presentation will help participants better understand how to reduce risk, recognize warning signs, access treatment options, and support those in recovery.
