About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

We’ll explore Delaney Wildlife Management Area in Bolton/Stow.

Delaney WMA in Bolton/Stow is an Important Bird Area with a variety of habitats, including a shallow lake, a slow-running stream and a marsh, all bordered by mixed conifer/deciduous forest.

The grassland area boasts a Bluebird Trail that often abounds with Eastern Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Warblers and Killdeer.

We’ll go for a slow-paced 2 to 3-mile walk along trails with moderate terrain changes to see which birds are back and share the basics on identifying them.

Please wear sturdy shoes as trails may be muddy.

A limited number of loaner binoculars will be available, but bringing your own pair is recommended.

Beginner birders are welcome and encouraged!

Meet at the Delaney Project Boat Launch off Harvard Road in Stow at 7:00 a.m.
