About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Join Indiana Audubon for a morning of spring birding at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, focusing on the reservoir’s waterfowl haven. Eagle Creek Park spans over 3,900 acres and includes a 1,400-acre reservoir, providing ideal habitat for a wide variety of bird species. The park's mix of woodlands, wetlands, and open water attracts both resident and migratory birds, making it a favorite spot for photographers and birdwatchers alike.

The field trip is planned for those who have some waterfowl ID experience and are seeking to improve their ID skills. Participants will meet field trip leader and Indiana Audubon board member Tina Rosier at 9:00 AM ET at the Ornithology Center parking lot.

In recent years, a good variety of waterfowl can be present on the sheltered lake including mergansers, scaups, Redheads, Canvasbacks, and more.
