A Paddle; For Hunger is heading west to Lambertville, NJ for a Sunday afternoon round-trip lunch and shopping paddle. Come join us for a mid-morning paddle on the D&R Canal, from Washington’s Crossing, under bridges, and maybe even a few portages, to our pull-out just south of Lambertville.
We will leave Washington’s Crossing at 10:00 am and head seven miles north to Lambertville where will have a two-hour layover for lunch, shopping and antiquing, and coffee. Around 2:00 pm we will start our leisurely way back to Washington’s Crossing.
This up-and-back paddle is about 14 miles total and is expected to take about three hours each way.
This is for hard-shell kayaks only. Please, no inflatables. Also, please, no kayak trailers- there is nowhere to store them.
And… If anyone wants to stick around at the end, there is a great restaurant, It’s Nuts (cash only), a half-mile up RTE 29 North, just past the drop in/out.
Finally, this is a free event; however, we ask that donate what you can or try to donate cups, plates, napkins, and coffee supplies.
We look forward to seeing you for a fun day on the canal.
This is an American Canoe Association sanctioned event with two ACA guides- who are practicing for both level 1 and guide credits. The associated fee covers the ACA event costs of about $12 per person.
