This training course will provide professionals who may interact with survivors of domestic violence with in-depth information about the dynamics of intimate partner violence. Participants will be able to articulate warning signs of abuse, build skills to interact with survivors using an empowerment approach, and learn how to identify patterns of abusive behavior. The workshop will explore the impacts of domestic violence as they relate to children and other special topics and will offer practical information about serving survivors and families. Attendees will receive an overview of Helpmate's services as well as information about how they can support efforts to address domestic violence.

Continuing Education credits are not offered, but participants will receive a certificate of attendance and a detailed agenda to enable them to apply for credits as needed from the appropriate licensing boards.
