This is the first time we’re holding a spring auction, responding to visitor demand. It's the perfect way to preview a wide selection of participating artists and plan your studio visits for Open Studios, April 26-27.

Frequently asked questions

How do I bid in the auction?

The auction will be hosted online, and all bidding will be online. Once you signed up with a credit card you can bid from anywhere. Notifications will let you know when you have been outbid, so you can stay on top of your bidding. Bidding opens the day of the auction reception April 10.

What are th eopen and closing dates for the auction?

The auction opens April 10 at noon and closes May 3 at 2PM.

When can I pick up the art I won at the auction

After the auction closes on Saturday, May 3 at 2 PM. If you paid the BUY NOW price you may also pick up after Open Studios during these additional viewing hours: Wed, April 30, 1-5PM Thu, May 1, 3-6 PM Sat, May 3, 12 – 5PM

Do I have to bid in the auction if I come to the reception?

No. We welcome you to the auction reception and hope you will be inspired to sign up to bid, but this is not a requirement,

Shipyard Trust for the Arts' mission revolves around the large and diverse community of visual artists, musicians and writers who have been working in studios at the historic Hunters Point Shipyard for more than 40 years. Keeping the studios affordable, facilitating arts education and exhibitions that involve people from our surrounding Bayview Hunters Point community and promoting programs and activities inspired by the intimate setting of artists' individual studios comprise the focus of our work.
