DG Culture Quiz is a trivia based game show that explores the music, movies and television we grew up with. This first quiz in the series is on Black musicals. Join us to see who takes home the grand prize* and bragging rights as the first winner of the DG Culture Quiz!

Audience members who RSVP and attend will enter a raffle to receive a DG Swag Bag! Hosted by comedian Jaz Sedgwick, it is sure to be an okay time.

*Grand prize includes FREE entry to ANY event, concert, or class at Downing-Gross. Event or class must take place before July 1, 2025.

The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is a multi-purpose cultural space in the Southeast community of Newport News, Virginia. Originally built as the Walter Reed School in 1917, our historic building has been restored and open to the public since October 2008.

In addition to the 276-seat Ella Fitzgerald Theater, we have rooms for meetings and events, as well as studio space for visual and performing arts. The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is a facility of the City of Newport News department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
