Participants will attend on April 5th for 5 hours with 50 minutes worth of break time.

Curious about mutual aid but unsure where to start? Demystifying Mutual Aid is a workshop designed to unpack the concept of mutual aid, moving beyond common misconceptions like associating it solely with crowdfunding. This interactive session will provide participants with a clear understanding of what mutual aid is and how it can be a powerful tool for survival and community-building in today’s political and economic climate. This workshop will be facilitated and includes information helpful neurodivergent folks. Many of us have unique needs that will need to be incorporated in our survival needs.

Through facilitation and discussion, participants will:

  • Learn foundational definitions and real-life examples of mutual aid.
  • Gain tips for organizing with friends, family, and broader communities.
  • Explore strategies for creating short- and long-term survival goals.
  • Identify personal skills they can develop to show up for their community.

This workshop is intentionally intimate, with space for up to 9 participants to insure time for meaningful participation. It is open to beginners and those seeking to deepen their understanding and participation in mutual aid.

About the host:

Fab is a Black neurodivergent woman with a degree in Political Science and Economics. She is a workshop facilitator and public educator with over five years of experience creating accessible and impactful content on systemic issues like capitalism, imperialism, and anti-Blackness. She combines academic knowledge with hands-on experience in nonprofits and government agencies.

Her Demystifying Mutual Aid workshop equips participants with a clear understanding of mutual aid and practical tools to address immediate and long-term survival needs. Fab is passionate about fostering resilience and collaboration, helping individuals and communities thrive in today’s challenging climate.
