Death-Over-Drinks: A Die-A-Logue is a FREE community event where all are welcome to talk about dying, death and end-of-life. As a society we're kinda rusty talking about the thing we ALL have in common (we ALL will die someday) and often don't know where to go or who is willing to talk about it. It's for that reason the Pre-Dead Social Club (PDSC) exists and created opportunities like Death-Over-Drinks so we can take strides at practicing, normalizing and exploring topics related to mortality together.
Please know that Death-Over-Drinks is not a grief session, but an occasion to gather and delve into topics that impact each and every one of us as we endeavor to navigate living and dying. We understand talking about death can be tender. We encourage you to show up and participate at your comfort level. We'll meet you where you're at.
"Death is an event. Dying is a process...with a fuzzy-at-best timeline," shares death doula and Pre-Dead Social Club founder, Laura Cleminson.
- As a society we are living longer and not necessarily healthier with family scattered about. The vast majority of us will be asked to navigate critical health care decisions in the ever changing landscape of modern medicine at a time when we're the most stressed and feel our worst.
- The vast majority of us will take on the role or receive non-paid, family caregiving with little to no understanding of the scope of those responsibilities, how to have meaningful conversations around our care and expand our care team.
So...come curious, lean in and meet others in your community looking to have meaningful conversations on topics that impact our eventual death. Show up solo, bring a friend, your significant other, neighbor or family member. It's a time to hear what others are thinking about and to share perspectives. We'll start with a "die-a-logue starter" and break out into facilitated, smaller groups and see where that conversation takes us!
Space is limited, so please reserve your spot today.
As a registered attendee, your email address will be added to the Pre-Dead Social Club email database so you can receive our newsletters and stay abreast of other events and programs we offer. You can unsubscribe at any time. We respect your privacy and will NEVER provide your email address to any other organization.
The Pre-Dead Social Club is on a MISSION to bring fresh energy to vital conversations about dying and death, fostering understanding among individuals, loved ones, and the professionals they rely on. We realize talking about our mortality, death, dying and related topics are tender topics, this is not a grief session. If you are in the throes of processing a recent death, respect where you are at and know we meet monthly and welcome you here when you are ready.
Since launching Death-Over-Drinks in March of 2023 we've welcomed people from their mid-20's to mid-90's of all backgrounds. All are welcome.
Our goal is to normalize conversations around death and dying. We ask those present to ponder an ice breaker question provided at the beginning of the event and then share your point of view, thoughts and stay curious. We hope you leave with a broader perspective than when you arrived for starters!
