Welcome to Create with MACC: Teen Sewing! Join us for a fun and creative afternoon of sewing with Emily Rouse of Edgington Studio at 245 Jefferson Ave.
Learn hand-sewing embroidery stitches to use for visible mending and decoration. Participants will learn the satin stitch, chain stitch, couching stitch, french knot, back stitch, and whip stitch with a patch. After instruction, the participants can then try the techniques on a piece that they bring.
Edgington Studio is a full-service cut-and-sew apparel manufacturer, named after its location on Edgington Lane in Wheeling, West Virginia. They help emerging fashion designers across the United States with collection development and small production runs. They also make custom one-of-a-kind garments and teach classes for those local to Wheeling. They opened in July of 2020 after recognizing the need for American-made products at a time when international supply lines were not always reliable. Edgington Studio strives to close the gap for American manufacturing of cut-and-sew apparel with small batch production through the use of local talent sourcing and partnerships, while inspiring the next generation of garment professionals.
