About this event

Do you ever feel like your creative practice could be more intentional, restorative, or meaningful? You already know the joy of working with yarn, thread, and fabric—now learn how to deepen its benefits for your well-being, creativity, and community.

Craft to Heal, Grow & Connect is a flexible, year-long workshop series designed to help fiber artists—knitters, crocheters, quilters, embroiderers, and other makers—use their craft as a tool for self-care, emotional healing, and deeper connection. Each month, we explore a different theme, and you can join as many or as few sessions as you like—there’s no obligation to commit to the full series.

This 90-minute live workshop is the first session and will provide a foundational introduction to crafting with intention.

What You’ll Experience in This Session

  • A Guided Visualization Exercise – Settle in with a calming, creative grounding practice that will help you connect to your craft in a deeper way.
  • The Healing Power of Craft – Learn how fiber arts can be a lifeline in difficult times and why creativity is essential for emotional well-being.
  • The Science Behind Crafting for Healing – Discover how repetitive hand movements, sensory engagement, and creative flow affect the brain, nervous system, and mental health.
  • Personal Stories of Healing Through Craft – Hear real experiences from fiber artists who have used their craft to navigate stress, grief, and personal growth.
  • Hands-On Exercises – Engage in a 60-second observation exercise and choose a mindfulness cue to start crafting with greater awareness and intention.
  • Exclusive Workshop PDF – All participants receive a PDF guide with workshop highlights, exercises, and reflection prompts to continue their journey after the session.
  • Workshop Recording – If you sign up but can’t attend live, you’ll still receive access to the recorded session so you don’t miss out.

💡 This is not a skills-based craft class. You don’t need to be an expert in any particular craft—you just need an open mind and a desire to explore the connection between creativity and well-being.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to attend live? Will there be a recording?

No worries if you can’t make it live! All registered participants will receive access to the recorded Zoom session after the workshop. You can watch it at your convenience.

Will you be teaching us how to crochet, knit, quilt, sew, etc?

No, this is not a technique or pattern-based class. You won’t be learning how to crochet, knit, or quilt. Instead, this workshop explores how to use the craft you already love as a tool for mindfulness, healing, and self-reflection. You need only a beginner-level skill in any one craft.

What kind of craft do I need to know how to do to participate?

This workshop is designed for fiber artists, including knitters, crocheters, quilters, embroiderers, and other textile-based makers. However, the exercises are adaptable, and if you enjoy working with your hands in any creative way, you’re welcome to join.

Do I need to bring materials?

Not necessarily! You can fully participate even if you don’t have your craft materials with you. Some exercises will involve reflection and visualization, so it’s more about engaging with your creative mindset than making a specific project. Feel free to bring your WIP tow work on though!

How does the year-long series work? Do I have to sign up for every session?

Not at all! This is a flexible series, and you can join as many or as few sessions as you like. Each month focuses on a different theme—such as mindfulness, self-discovery, and creative connection—so you can attend the topics that resonate most with you.

Will there be opportunities to interact and ask questions?

Yes! While the workshop will have a structured learning component, there will also be space for Q&A, reflection, and optional participation. You can engage as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

Organized by

Craft to Heal is a year-long guided creative journey and supportive community designed to help you explore personal growth, healing, and connection through the crafts you love.

It’s a program for learning how to use the crafts you already enjoy as tools in various areas of life—whether that’s practicing self-care, building relationships, navigating change, or finding purpose.

This is not a craft class where I teach you how to knit, crochet, or quilt. It’s not therapy. It’s something else—something between and beyond those things.

Each month, we’ll explore a new theme—mindfulness, letting go, creative balance, fear, abundance, artistic development—through structured creative exercises, guided reflection, and optional group discussion.

You can join for as many, or few, sessions as feels right for you/
