What is the workshop about ?

Learn from a well renowned natural builder on how to construct a traditional clay oven using ancient building techniques that have been proven over millennia.

Not only will you get to know the power of the earth, its elements, and how they work together to create practical uses but also be guided through a specially curated journey of self-discovery.

In working with the elements in this particular way, we have unveiled a unique process of creating the space for beautiful emotional and mental releases that have positively impacted lives forever.

Journey with us for a weekend through the doorway of sustainable living inside and out.

Frequently asked questions

HOW IS THE SURROUNDING AREA?

The Springer Mountain Center is located just a few miles from the southern terminus of one of the longest trails in the United States, the Appalachian Trail. The surrounding landscape features gently sloping mountains, abundant creeks and waterfalls, and massive boulders—remnants of the Appalachian

HOW DOES THE WEATHER LOOKS LIKE DURING THIS SEASON ?

In May, Blue Ridge enjoys warm temperatures (70s-80s°F highs, 50s-60s°F lows) with lush greenery. It's a great time for outdoor activities, with mild weather and occasional rain showers

ARE THERE ANY SUGGESTED RESOURCES TO BE PREPARED FOR THE WORKSHOP

A good book as reference is " Build your own earth oven" by Hannah Field and Kiko Denzer

ARE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS TAKEN IN CONSIDERATION ?

All meals are prepared in-house with fresh, natural ingredients. We kindly ask that you communicate any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate your needs.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND BRING DURING MY STAYING ?

Cob work is a hands-on, messy construction technique, so please wear comfortable, old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Feel free to wear your favorite outfit during other parts of the workshop. If you're a campsite guest, we recommend bringing a tent and camping gear.
