In 2018, Leadership Cleveland LC2 Fellows sought a project that would help strengthen the physical connections between the Downtown and the city's neighborhoods.
The project they chose was called the Memorial Bridges Loop.
Soon thereafter, the City of Cleveland, Trust for Public Land, Bike Cleveland and other partners began the process of making the project a reality.
The Cleveland Memorial Bridges Loop will use excess road capacity to create a separated bicycle and pedestrian path on Huron Rd. and Ontario Ave., linking the protected bicycle lane & sidewalk on the Detroit-Superior (Veterans Memorial) Bridge with the existing separated multi-use path near and on the Lorain-Carnegie (Guardians) Bridge.
The project will complete a crucial gap in Cleveland's bike and pedestrian network and is another important puzzle piece in creating a network of stress-free bike/pedestrian accommodations that connect Downtown to the city's neighborhoods.
Join us for this open house-style presentation where you can review design plans, ask questions, provide feedback and walk or run the Loop with others if you'd like!
Note: This event will be in conjunction with Fleet Feet Cleveland's Monthly Pub Run series (all abilities welcome).
