About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Endodontic diagnostic errors can and do occur on a daily basis. The consequences of these errors vary significantly, including inappropriate treatment plans, increased morbidity, poor patient outcomes, and in severe cases, life-threatening complications.

To minimize these errors, accurate clinical and radiographic data, such as that provided by Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), are needed. However, the effectiveness of this technology is dependent on the practitioners' ability to accurately interpret and apply the data—a task complicated by the frequent overlooking, misinterpretation, or disregard of CBCT findings.

Dr. Keith Aibel discusses the keys to accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning. By following a systematic method to interpet CBCT, we can significantly improve our diagnostic accuracy and enhance our ability to develop appropriate treatment plans.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify common diagnostic errors in endodontics and explain their potential consequences on treatment outcomes
  • Interpret CBCT cases provided to support appropriate endodontic treatment planning.
  • Apply strategic principles to enhance diagnostic thinking and clinical decision-making.

This is a hands-on session designed to provide an interactive experience with case walkthroughs and software demonstrations. Bringing a Windows-based laptop is strongly recommended to fully participate in the training. MacOS devices are not supported for this portion of the course and may limit your ability to engage in the hands-on components.
