The GObike shop will be open if you need any supplies (extra tubes, etc).

Ride Departs

We depart at 10am sharp! The group will ride the 4 miles out to Hoyt Lake.

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Arrive at Hoyt Lake

We'll have an hour or so to hang out and enjoy the park, coffee, and bike friendship :)

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Return to GObike

We will arrive back at GObike by 1:30pm! You are welcome to ride back sooner without the group if needed and you feel safe to do so.

About this event

This month we will visit Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park. It's approx. 8 miles round trip depending on weather from our starting point at the GObike Community Workshop (313 Broadway). If you haven't ridden in a group before, we think you'll find it's much easier to go the distance together :)

Frequently asked questions

What should I bring?

Just bring a travel mug - we will supply the coffee and have the materials to brew a big batch! You're welcome to bring your own camp stove and coffee making supplies but it is not required. Make sure you bring plenty of water to hydrate and warm breathable winter gear for this ride!

What is the pace of the ride?

We ride a "chatty pace" of 10-15mph.

Will we be riding in traffic?

Yes, you should expect to ride on the road for some parts of Camp Coffee RIdes. We stop for all traffic signals and ride two abreast, as per NYS traffic law. We use bike lanes when possible and will utilize bike paths when available.

Is my bike ready? What if it breaks down on the ride?

You should feel confident that your bike is in working order, as our mechanics won't be able to perform repairs during the ride. We recommend coming to Open Shop at the GObike Community Workshop (free for GObike members or $10 to drop in) on Wednesday nights at 313 Broadway for regular maintenance.
