How to Prepare:

To get the most out of your meditation experience, here are a few simple ways to prepare:

🧘‍♂️ Find a Comfortable Space – Choose a quiet, distraction-free environment where you can sit or lie down comfortably.

🕯 Dress Comfortably – Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax fully.

📵 Minimize Distractions – Silence notifications on your phone and let those around you know you’ll be taking some quiet time.

🌬 Come with an Open Mind – There’s no “right” way to meditate—just bring curiosity and a willingness to explore.

💧 Stay Hydrated – Drinking water before class can help you feel more at ease.

📓 Optional: Bring a Journal – You might want to jot down any thoughts, insights, or reflections after the session.

That’s it! No special equipment or experience is required—just your presence.

Frequently asked questions

1. Do I need any prior experience with meditation?

Nope! This class is designed specifically for beginners. Whether you’ve never meditated before or have tried but struggled to stay consistent, you’re welcome here.

2. What type of meditation will we practice?

We’ll focus on breath awareness and presence, which is one of the simplest and most effective meditation techniques. It helps calm the mind, reduce stress, and improve focus.

3. How long is the session?

The class will last about 30 minutes, including an introduction, guided meditations, and time for reflection and questions.

4. Do I need to bring anything?

No special equipment is required! Just find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down. You may want to bring a journal to note any reflections after the session.

5. What should I wear?

Wear anything comfortable that allows you to relax fully. There’s no need for yoga clothes—just something you feel good in.

6. Is the class really donation-based?

Yes! This session is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. If you find it valuable, you’re welcome to contribute. You can reserve your ticket for as little as $1. If you’re not in a position to donate, you are still very welcome to join! Just contact me at suemello.com and I will sign you up!

7. Can I turn my camera off if it’s an online session?

We prefer to keep cameras on during the session to help us stay more present and interact with each other. However, it’s completely up to you! If you’re more comfortable with your camera off, feel free to do so. The most important thing is that you feel relaxed and engaged in the session.

8. What if I can’t sit still or my mind keeps wandering?

That’s completely normal! Meditation is about observing your thoughts, not stopping them. If your mind wanders, simply return your focus to your breath. Over time, this becomes easier.
