About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Want to learn more about the scientists, inventors, and entrepreneurs who made Cambridge one of the most innovative cities in the world? Join us for a special tour of The Innovation Trail, supported by the City of Cambridge and MA 250.

From anti-aging technology to gene-editing, the newest discoveries coming out of Cambridge are building on the historical inventions of things as diverse as woven fire hoses and the microwave oven. See which of today's cutting-edge discoveries will be in the history books of the future.

We'll start at the Boston Marriott in Kendall Square, just above the Kendall Square T station. If you have kids interested in STEM and entrepreneurship, you won't want to miss this tour! The tour will run about 90 minutes. Please dress for the day's weather!

We're proud that this walking tour earned a "Best of Boston" award from Boston Magazine in 2023.

This 1 PM tour on April 15th is geared to families with kids who are on April school vacation, and people who work in Kendall Square and can take a slightly extended lunch break. We'd love to have you join us! (And if you do come — please tag us in any photos that you post on Instagram or other social media: @bostoninnotrail.)

These tickets are free thanks to generous support from the City of Cambridge and MA 250. Space is limited, so please cancel your order if you are unable to make it so that someone else can use that ticket.

#CambMA250 and #MA250.

These tours will be led by Noah Putterman of Boston History Co. (That's him above!)

Thanks to the City of Cambridge and MA 250 for their support of this event!

Organized by

Boston's Innovation Trail was created to celebrate and share the stories about the past, present, and future of science, technology, medical, business, and social innovation — and give visitors a way to experience it. Like the Freedom Trail, this is a walkable trail with 21 key sites, including four museums, spread across Boston and Cambridge. Our guided walking tours have been awarded the prestigious "Best of Boston" award (2023) by Boston Magazine. The Innovation Trail of Greater Boston is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
